Vanta ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our iOS application.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide our service:
Device Identifier: We use your device's vendor identifier (identifierForVendor) for authentication. This is a unique ID tied to your device and is not shared with third parties.
Photos You Upload: When you create a character, you upload reference photos. These photos are sent to our server for AI processing and are stored temporarily to enable scene generation.
Generated Images: Thumbnails of generated scenes are stored on our server. Full resolution images are cached temporarily and then removed.
Purchase Information: If you make in app purchases, Apple provides us with a transaction receipt for verification. We do not have access to your payment details.
How We Use Your Information
To authenticate your device and maintain your account
To process your reference photos and generate AI scenes
To track your credit balance and purchase history
To prevent abuse through rate limiting
Data Shared with Third Parties
To generate AI images, Vanta shares the following data with Google LLC via their Gemini AI service:
Your character's reference photos (the images you upload to create a character)
Your scene description text (location, action, outfit, mood, and environment fields)
This data is transmitted securely via HTTPS to Google's Gemini API. Google processes this data to generate the requested image according to their own data handling practices.
User Consent: Before your first image generation, the app displays a clear disclosure of what data will be shared and with whom, and asks for your explicit consent. You may decline, in which case no data is sent. You can revoke consent at any time from the Settings screen in the app (Privacy > AI Data Sharing), or by deleting your account.
We do not sell your personal information. Apart from Google Gemini AI for image generation and Apple for in-app purchases, we do not share your data with any other third parties.
Data Storage and Security
Reference photos are stored securely on our server and associated with your device identifier
Generated image thumbnails are stored in our database
Full resolution images are temporarily cached on the server (up to 10 minutes) and are not permanently stored
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
We use industry standard security measures to protect your data
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed, including:
Your user profile and credit balance
All characters and reference photos
All generated image thumbnails
Purchase history and transaction records
Your AI data sharing consent preference
Third Party Services
Google Gemini AI (Google LLC): Used for AI image generation. Receives your reference photos and scene descriptions. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple In App Purchases (Apple Inc.): Used for credit pack purchases. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
Vanta is not intended for children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 17, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and updating the "Last updated" date.
